Director of Development – Private Funding (nonprofit fundraising exp. req.) Description 

Our client, a nonprofit improving the health of historically underserved communities in North Texas, is seeking a seasoned and well-connected Development Director to build and lead a comprehensive fundraising program. Currently a $12M organization with 95% of funding coming from federal sources, they are ready to expand their impact by developing new private funding channels. This is a rare opportunity for a senior development professional to create and grow a multi-faceted fundraising department from the ground up. Starting as a one-person team, you will design and implement a strategic development plan that grows fundraising support, strengthens community partnerships, and builds the foundation for a scalable development team. The ideal candidate is a long-time Dallas resident with deep relationships across the DFW philanthropic community. Director of Development – Private Funding (nonprofit fundraising exp. req.) Responsibilities

•    Build and lead a private fundraising program from inception, diversifying revenue streams
•    Execute a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising strategy 
•    Create fundraising materials that strengthen visibility and engagement
•    Partner with ELT and the Board to align fundraising strategy with organizational priorities
•    Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and high-capacity prospects
•    Lead strategy for corporate and foundation giving, managing a robust donor pipeline
•    Secure foundation and corporate support through strategic prospecting 
•    Develop compelling proposals and manage funder relationships to secure and grow support
•    Leverage DWF relationships to expand community partnerships and sponsorships
•    Oversee donor systems, gift tracking, reporting, and compliance
•    Represent the organization at philanthropic and community events 
•    Grow the fundraising program, laying the foundation to build a high-performing team over time

Director of Development – Private Funding (nonprofit fundraising exp. req.) Qualifications  

•    Bachelor’s degree required 
•    5+ years of private fundraising experience within nonprofit organizations required 
•    Significant experience cultivating and securing corporate and foundation partnerships required
•    Demonstrated success building or revitalizing fundraising programs required
•    Deep familiarity with the DFW philanthropic community
