Purchasing Manager - Structural Steel Fabrication Responsibilities

•    Source and purchase structural steel, including plate, beams, shapes, and specialty materials
•    Develop and manage relationships with mills, distributors, and key suppliers
•    Negotiate pricing, lead times, freight terms, and delivery schedules
•    Translate project drawings, takeoffs, and material requirements into accurate purchase orders
•    Ensure all purchased materials arrive with proper documentation, certifications, and records
•    Review and reconcile purchase orders, packing slips, receiving records, and vendor invoices
•    Resolve purchasing discrepancies with suppliers, project managers, and operations teams
•    Maintain organized purchasing records to support project and audit requirements
•    Utilize ERP to track purchasing activity, inventory, and material status
•    Monitor steel market trends, pricing fluctuations, tariffs, and freight costs
•    Support process improvements and digital purchasing initiatives

Purchasing Manager - Structural Steel Fabrication Qualifications

•    5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience required
•    Experience purchasing steel, metals, industrial materials, or fabricated products required
•    Strong understanding of purchase order management and vendor management required
•    Familiarity with ERP, MRP, or shop management systems required
