This is a highly visible role with direct access to leadership and significant influence over quality systems, operational processes, and strategic decision-making. Quality Manager/Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – Structural Steel Fabrication Responsibilities
• Lead and maintain the company's Quality Management System in compliance with AISC
• Serve as the primary QA/QC authority across all fabrication projects and production operations
• Perform and oversee visual, dimensional, ultrasonic (UT), and magnetic particle (MT) inspection
• Interpret NDT results and make accept/reject quality decisions
• Coordinate and manage third-party inspection vendors, including radiographic testing providers
• Maintain welder qualifications, continuity logs, WPS/PQR documentation, and material records
• Identify quality concerns proactively and partner with production teams to reduce defects
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
• Standardize inspection procedures, reporting, and documentation practices
• Support the transition from paper-based quality processes to digital workflows
Quality Manager/Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – Structural Steel Fabrication Qualifications
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
• 5+ years of QA/QC experience within structural steel fabrication required
• Experience working in an AISC-certified fabrication environment required
• Experience supporting bridge projects and/or fracture-critical structural steel work required
• Hands-on experience performing and interpreting NDT inspections required
