Plant Health Manager Description
Our client, a leading wholesale nursery, is seeking a Plant Health Manager to oversee all aspects of plant health across their growing operations outside of Hillsboro, Oregon. This hands-on role ensures all plant material is healthy, clean, and consistently superior. You’ll lead the Plant Health Team, manage irrigation and fertigation programs, and oversee pest and disease control with an emphasis on prevention and sustainability. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who loves mentoring others, optimizing systems, and staying current on horticultural best practices. Plant Health Manager Responsibilities
• Lead and develop a team responsible for plant health, pest control, and irrigation practices
• Monitor crops to identify potential pest, disease, or nutrition issues
• Manage integrated pest management (IPM) programs and oversee treatment applications
• Support and train staff in proper irrigation and fertigation techniques
• Maintain accurate records related to plant health, irrigation, and chemical use
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with leadership to optimize growing systems
• Purchase and manage materials and supplies within budget guidelines
Plant Health Manager Qualifications
• Bilingual in Spanish required
• 3+ years of plant health, nursery operations, or horticulture management experience required
• Strong understanding of irrigation, fertigation, and pest management systems required
• Oregon Private Applicator License (or ability to obtain) required
