Assistant Store Manager Trainee / Manager-in-Training Description
Our client is looking for an Assistant Store Manager Trainee / Manager-in-Training to join their team in Glendive, MT. In this role, you will work closely with the Store Manager and leadership team to learn daily store operations, support team members, maintain department standards, and develop into a strong leader over time. You do not need to be a polished Assistant Store Manager on day one, but you must be dependable, hands-on, willing to step in wherever needed, coachable, comfortable working with people, and genuinely interested in learning how to lead others. Assistant Store Manager Trainee / Manager-in-Training Responsibilities
• Learn store operations through a Manager-in-Training development plan
• Support daily floor coverage, staffing, and customer service needs
• Assist department teams to keep store operations moving
• Help maintain safety, cleanliness, and appearance standards
• Learn how to coach team members and reinforce expectations
• Support new hire training and ongoing team development
• Coordinate with department leaders to keep work flowing
• Assist with inventory, pricing, and merchandising standards
• Document team issues and follow up with manager support
• Help lead store operations in the Manager’s absence
Assistant Store Manager Trainee / Manager-in-Training Qualifications
• Interest and willingness to lead, coach, and develop others required
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn MS Excel (enter spreadsheet data) required
• Schedule flexibility to work weekends, some holidays, and open/close shifts required
• Strong communication skills and comfortable interacting with employees and customers
