Maintenance Supervisor Description

Our client, a well-established and highly specialized industrial manufacturer, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team in the Greater Baltimore area. This organization operates in a precision-driven environment and is known for its quality-focused production and tenured workforce. This is a hands-on, working supervisor role overseeing two highly capable maintenance technicians. The team is strong and experienced, so this individual will lead by example—rolling up their sleeves, jumping in on repairs, and providing guidance where needed rather than managing from a distance. The role is ideal for someone stepping into their first formal leadership position or a current supervisor who prefers to stay close to the equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to make an immediate impact while growing into a long-term leadership role alongside a highly skilled team.

Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities

•    Oversee and actively participate in daily maintenance operations
•    Lead, support, and collaborate with two experienced maintenance technicians
•    Serve as a hands-on resource for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
•    Perform and support repairs across hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
•    Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans to reduce downtime
•    Troubleshoot motors, drives (VFDs), sensors, and basic control systems
•    Read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
•    Partner closely with production to prioritize and resolve equipment issues quickly
•    Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure equipment reliability
•    Promote and uphold a strong safety culture across the facility

Maintenance Supervisor Qualifications

•    5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment required
•    Strong hands-on mechanical troubleshooting skills required
•    Ability to read schematics and diagnose equipment issues effectively required
•    Must be a hands-on, humble leader who leads by example
•    Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred; open to first-time supervisors
