Our client is seeking a Remote Business Development Manager to join their US team. They’ve built a strong reputation for reliability and strategic execution across key markets, and their forward-thinking approach has fueled consistent year-over-year growth. This role will play a critical part in further expanding their market presence. The position is heavily focused on new business development, with most of your time dedicated to acquiring new logos. Deal cycles can range from a few months to several years, with average deal sizes exceeding $100K. You’ll be responsible for prospecting to engineering and procurement teams, as well as executive leadership. The ideal candidate brings full-cycle sales experience within semiconductor lasers or photonic components, along with a proven track record in lead generation, consultative selling, and long-term relationship management. This is an individual contributor role with a clear path to Head of Sales within a few years. While this may not be the right fit for someone seeking a primarily account management-focused position, it’s an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is looking for more than a traditional commission-driven role. In addition to strong earning potential, the position offers meaningful upside, including eligibility for stock options after your first year.

Business Development Manager – Laser Technology (photonics sales exp. req.) Responsibilities

•    Generate new sales across multiple markets
•    Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close
•    Execute territory and account strategies to meet revenue targets
•    Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to align solutions with customer needs
•    Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
•    Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts
•    Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, OEMs, and research institutions
•    Translate technical requirements into commercial opportunities
•    Manage customer expectations on timelines, specifications, and product roadmap
•    Travel to meet with new customers and deepen existing relationships  
•    Track market trends, provide competitive insights, and support strategic planning

Business Development Manager – Laser Technology (photonics sales exp. req.) Qualifications  

•    5+ years of full-cycle sales experience within photonics, optics, or semiconductor laser–based technologies 
•    Experienced in consultative selling and managing complex, long-term deals
•    Strong new business development background 
•    Willingness and ability to travel up to ~25% (air travel; must be based near a major airport)
