Our client is seeking a Remote Business Development Manager to join their US team. They have built a strong reputation for reliability and strategic execution in key markets. Their forward-thinking approach has driven strong year-over-year growth, and this role will help further expand their presence in key markets. The ideal candidate has full-cycle sales experience in semiconductor lasers or photonic components, with a proven track record in lead generation, consultative selling, and relationship management. This is an individual contributor role with a clear path to Head of Sales within a few years. If you thrive in entrepreneurial environments and are looking for a role beyond traditional commission-driven sales, this opportunity offers significant upside, including eligibility for stock options after your first year.
Business Development Manager – Laser Technology (photonics sales exp. req.) Responsibilities
• Generate new sales across multiple markets
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close
• Execute territory and account strategies to meet revenue targets
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to align solutions with customer needs
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
• Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, OEMs, and research institutions
• Translate technical requirements into commercial opportunities
• Manage customer expectations on timelines, specifications, and product roadmap
• Travel to meet with new customers and deepen existing relationships
• Track market trends, provide competitive insights, and support strategic planning

• 5+ years of full-cycle sales experience within photonics, optics, or semiconductor laser–based technologies
• Experienced in consultative selling and managing complex, long-term deals
• Strong new business development background
• Willingness and ability to travel around 25% (typically by air)
• Must be within driving distance to an airport
