[Hybrid] Staff Accountant Description

Our client, a well-established and growing law firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant to add to their team in Jacksonville, FL. Reporting directly to the Finance Director and working alongside a small, collaborative team, you’ll play a key role in supporting financial reporting, analysis, and month-end close. You’ll contribute across a variety of accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, posting daily bank activity, supporting payroll and benefits, and analyzing monthly compensation and insurance data. Ideal candidates for this role have experience in the private sector and are resourceful, detail-oriented, and excited by the opportunity to build and optimize processes in a dynamic environment. This is a highly visible position within a lean, growing team where you’ll have the opportunity to wear multiple hats, take ownership of your work, and directly impact process improvements and the firm’s continued growth.

[Hybrid] Staff Accountant Responsibilities

• Perform account reconciliations
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist with cash posting and daily cash management
• Support accounts receivable
• Monitor collections; follow up on overdue accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Collaborate with the team
• Help improve accounting processes and workflow

[Hybrid] Staff Accountant Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• 2+ years accounting experience required
• Financial reporting experience required
• Large/complex general ledger (200+ accounts) experience required
• Full-cycle month-end close experience required
• Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation) skills required
• Accounting software experience required
