Service Technician - Building Systems/Access Controls
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Salary: $30-$39/hr. ($62,000-$81,000) + Paid OT (time and a half)

Service Technician – Building Systems/Access Controls (low voltage troubleshooting req.) Description
Our client, a well-established building controls and energy management company, is looking to expand their team by adding a Service Technician in Jacksonville, FL. Most of their customers are located within the Greater Jacksonville area, allowing for an excellent work/life balance with minimal extended travel. Beyond being home nearly every night, you’ll join an inclusive, people-first environment known for low turnover and a highly stable client base, offering strong job security and excellent benefits. In this role, you will spend about 80–90% of your time troubleshooting electronic security systems, with the remaining time focused on installations. Whether your service background comes from building controls or even telecom solutions, if you have experience troubleshooting low-voltage systems, you could be a strong fit. Important Note: Their customers are fairly concentrated in the Jacksonville area. The most extensive travel will be to Savannah and Thomasville, GA or to the Orlando and Tallahassee area.
Service Tech – Building Systems/Access Controls (low voltage troubleshooting req.) Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair system issues to ensure operational efficiency
• Perform routine maintenance and testing to ensure ongoing reliability
• Install and configure access control systems and video surveillance
• Review and interpret electrical schematic wiring diagrams
• Ensure equipment safety standards and maintain safe work environments
• Interact with clients as needed to understand their security needs
• Act as a liaison between internal teams and external clients
• Travel to client sites (75%) and provide remote diagnostics when possible
• Participate in on-call rotation (typically, every 3rd or 4th week)
• Pursue ongoing education and training to expand BAS skills
Service Tech – Building Systems/Access Controls (low voltage troubleshooting req.) Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience troubleshooting low-voltage commercial systems (i.e. building automation, electronic security, telecom, fire alarms, etc.) required
• Experience in testing relays with multimeters required
• Field travel (typically local) required
• On-site/in-office presence required when not traveling
