Field Service Technician (Power Transformer Exp. Req.) Description
Our client in the power solutions and electrical infrastructure industry is seeking a Field Service Technician with hands-on power transformer experience to support large-scale field projects. This role is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of power transformers at customer sites. The ideal candidate is technically capable, safety-focused, self-directed, and comfortable working extended hours in challenging field environments. This position offers stability, substantial paid overtime, a predictable travel rotation with scheduled time off, and strong earning potential while supporting critical power infrastructure projects nationwide.
Field Service Technician (Power Transformer Exp. Req.) Responsibilities
• Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing power transformers at customer and project sites
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on power transformers
• Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of transformers and related electrical system issues
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Work collaboratively with assigned crew members under a designated field crew leader
• Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
• Ensure work quality meets company standards and industry regulations
• Travel extensively and work extended schedules in support of project requirements
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe and operational condition
Field Service Technician (Power Transformer Exp. Req.) Qualifications
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing power transformers is required
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and blueprints is required
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards is required
• Valid driver’s license is required
• Ability to travel 3 weeks at a time to project sites is required
