Business Development Sales Manager (50% Remote/Travel; engineered plastics exp.) Description
Our client, a materials engineering industry leader, is looking for a Business Development Manager to oversee their Southeastern Territory. When you’re not traveling, you can work from your home office. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving volume growth of engineered nylon within automotive, industrial consumer goods, and electrical/electronic markets. This is a well-established territory where you’ll spend about 50% of your time nurturing existing accounts, with the remainder focused on new business development. To be chosen for this role, you must have a proven track record working across Engineering Teams during material selection. Business Development Sales Manager (50% Remote/Travel; engineered plastics exp.) Responsibilities
• Nurture current accounts and identify opportunities to increase sales volume
• Strengthen engineering and purchasing relationships
• Drive sales growth by promoting organic expansion
• Utilize technical service to increase sales and margins
• Support R&D and Applications Engineering
• Identify marketing opportunities to raise product awareness
• Provide field technical service and support
• Sell beyond price, emphasizing lead-time, technical capability, and global footprint
• Maintain accurate records of visits, contacts, and quotes in CRM
• Collaborate with quality and R&D teams in root cause analysis
Business Development Sales Manager (50% Remote/Travel; engineered plastics exp.) Qualifications
• 7+ years of sales or engineering experience required
• 4+ years of engineered plastics experience required
• Strong background with testing standards and material selection methodology required
• 50% travel required (driving); Typically, 3-5 customer visits a week across the region
