Manufacturing Operations Supervisor Description
Our client, a global leader in advanced medical technology manufacturing, is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to lead one of its high-volume production teams at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Reno, NV. This is a hands-on role suited for someone with a background in industrial or manufacturing engineering, experience in high volume manufacturing, and a drive for continuous improvement. You'll oversee department staffing (a team of approximately 30), production flow, equipment performance, and operational KPIs—all while ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality environment. Success in this role requires someone who can manage at every level of the organization, from the shop floor to senior leadership. Manufacturing Operations Supervisor Responsibilities
• Lead daily operations for a high-volume manufacturing area
• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of approximately 75 production employees
• Maintain a hands-on presence on the production floor to support operations
• Build production schedules, allocate resources, and ensure staffing meets operational demands
• Monitor KPIs, identify performance trends, and implement corrective actions
• Lead root cause analysis for quality issues, downtime, and production inefficiencies
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Manage departmental labor, overtime, and operating costs while meeting production targets
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and employee engagement
Manufacturing Operations Supervisor Qualifications
• 3+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience required
• High-volume manufacturing experience required
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment required (medical device, aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, industrial automation, etc.)
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis experience required
