Project Engineer / Structural Steel Design Description

Our client, a structural engineering and manufacturing company, is seeking a Project Engineer to join their West Michigan team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design, analysis, and pricing of engineered-to-order structural steel projects for a variety of commercial and municipal applications. The ideal candidate brings structural engineering experience with steel or concrete design, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret and produce detailed structural drawings. Success in this role requires teamwork and clear communication skills in collaboration with welders, CAD designers, and architects. Project Engineer / Structural Steel Design Responsibilities

•    Provide preliminary calculations for structures for review by a licensed PE 
•    Aid in proposal review ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and engineering standards 
•    Research, plan and design structural solutions for a range of projects
•    Assist with the preparation of structural drawings and data
•    Create structural models using engineering software
•    Measure loads and pressures caused by environmental or human influence
•    Track and report on project progress
•    Communicate with internal and external resources on all projects
•    Work with internal departments to improve processes

Project Engineer / Structural Steel Design Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required 
•    Structural design/engineering experience required
•    Proficient with structural analysis software required
