Industrial Engineer (SOP & Equipment Install Exp. Req.) Description

Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for an Industrial Engineer to add to their team near Fayetteville, NC. In this role, you will support both an existing production facility and the setup of a new secondary facility, with a focus on documentation, process improvement, and equipment installation. The ideal candidate will have experience developing SOPs and work instructions, overseeing equipment installations, and analyzing manufacturing processes. To be successful, you must be analytical, detail-oriented, and a strong problem solver with the ability to work both on the production floor and in an office environment. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in expanding operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Industrial Engineer (SOP & Equipment Install Exp. Req.) Responsibilities

•    Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation 
•    Support set up of a new manufacturing facility including equipment installation oversight
•    Manage the documentation of new equipment across multiple facilities
•    Conduct time studies to analyze production processes and identify improvement opportunities
•    Perform process mapping and value stream mapping (VSM) to optimize workflows
•    Analyze and optimize facility layouts and space utilization
•    Collaborate with the quality team to ensure processes meet quality standards
•    Monitor and report on KPIs to track production performance and improvements
•    Train operators on new processes, equipment, and standardized work instructions
•    Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives
•    Review production data, process flows, and specifications to support process optimization
•    Spend ~50% of time on the production floor and ~50% on office-based engineering work

Industrial Engineer (SOP & Equipment Install Exp. Req.) Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required
•    2+ years of engineering experience within manufacturing is required
•    Strong experience document writing (SOPs and work instructions) is required
•    Experience with equipment installation and process improvement is required
•    Ability to read and interpret precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings is required
•    Ability to work 100% on-site is required
