[REMOTE] Business Development Manager – Engineered Materials Description 

Our client, a materials engineering industry leader, is looking for a Business Development Manager to oversee their automotive portfolio within the Detroit Metropolitan area. When you’re not visiting clients, you can work remotely from your home office. You’ll be responsible for driving volume growth of engineered plastics within their US automotive sector. To be chosen for this role, you must have a proven track record working across R&D and Materials Engineering Teams during product development and material selection. Someone who has spent most of their career in the automotive space and understands how to navigate those waters. That’s not to say you will not have a strong book of business. [REMOTE] Business Development Manager – Engineered Materials Responsibilities

•    Manage entire automotive portfolio for each product line 
•    Strengthen engineering and purchasing relationships, aiming for increased volume
•    Create and execute a strategy for expanding the automotive customer base
•    Support R&D/Applications Engineering in identifying opportunities 
•    Develop value-based relationships at both OEM and Tier 1 levels
•    Identify marketing opportunities, such as shows and fairs, to raise product awareness
•    Provide field technical service and support to all accounts within the territory
•    Sell beyond price, emphasizing service, lead-time, technical capability, and global footprint
•    Maintain accurate records of visits, contacts, quotations, and sales opportunities SFDC 
•    Collaborate with quality and R&D teams in data gathering and root cause analysis  

[REMOTE] Business Development Manager – Engineered Materials Qualifications 

•    7+ years of sales or engineering experience within automotive required 
•    5+ years of continuous experience within engineering materials including nylon required 
•    Strong background with testing standards and material selection methodology required 
•    Local travel required around 60% typically within the Detroit Metropolitan area
