Accounting Manager (Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Exp. Req.) Description

Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for an Accounting Manager to add to their team in Orange County, California. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to ensure the integrity of accounting data and will focus on process improvement, month-end close, financial statement analysis, reporting, and budgets. After an initial onboarding period, you will also provide leadership and guidance to four direct reports, including AR/AP team members & a Junior Accountant. The ideal candidate has solid experience with month-end close, budgeting, cost accounting for manufacturing, and is knowledgeable about GAAP. To be successful, you must be a self-starter with excellent follow-up skills and be willing to roll up your sleeves to implement changes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Accounting Manager (Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Exp. Req.) Responsibilities

•    Support with accounting process improvement initiatives
•    Lead the month-end closing process in an accurate & timely manner 
•    Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting
•    Support with the preparation of financial statements, KPI data, and budget analysis 
•    Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team
•    Identify and research financial statement variances
•    Monthly balance sheet reconciliations 
•    Support the development of annual budgets and operating plan
•    Function as a lead in finance-related projects
•    Assist in annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
•    Monitor and maintain the cash flow forecast
•    Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the accuracy of accounting entries
•    Update the Finance Manual, Policies, and Procedures as required

Accounting Manager (Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Exp. Req.) Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s Degree is required
•    5+ years of accounting or finance experience is required
•    3+ years of cost accounting & manufacturing experience is required
•    Prior management experience is required
•    Experience with GAAP, month-end close, & budgeting is required
•    Ability to work in the office full-time & participate in quarterly domestic travel is required
