Associate Attorney – Description

Our client, a boutique firm specializing in a variety of complex commercial litigation issues, is looking for an Associate Attorney to join their firm located near Bloomfield Hills, MI. Whether you have commercial litigation experience or would look to transition into this field, you’ll benefit from a more culture-focused, positive environment. Their Managing Partner shared, “We like to believe we’ve created a safe space where we are allies for each other and that’s number one.” Our client has made it a point to lead their firm in a way that champions respect and harmonious partnerships. Although they are a smaller firm, they go up against the biggest players in town so you will have exposure to a variety of cases with opportunities to go to trial. Our client is looking for an excellent writer who has experience crafting motions for complex cases. Associate Attorney – Responsibilities

•    Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies
•    Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other necessary legal documents
•    Prepare discovery and oversee discovery answers with clients 
•    Conduct legal research and trial preparation 
•    Participate in court appearances and depositions 
•    Provide guidance, direction, and communication to support staff 
•    Communicate with clients and provide status reports 
•    Demonstrate exceptional legal research and writing skills
•    Work closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects 

Associate Attorney – Qualifications

•    Michigan Bar License with eligibility to practice law in good standing is required
•    Minimum 7 years of experience practicing law required 
•    Strong background writing motions for summary required 
•    Exceptional writing skills required
