Category Manager (retail category management exp. req.) Description

Our client is looking for a Category Manager to oversee their non-alcoholic beverage portfolio. This is an onsite position and depending on your location, you’ll either be working from their office in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Chattanooga, or Nashville. In this role, you’ll develop and execute category plans and business strategies to maximize revenue and profits. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert advising on best practices and processes for category development, merchandising, portfolio mix, and pricing strategies. They are the first in their industry to have true category management teams. There is a lot of unchartered territory from a data standpoint but that’s where it gets exciting. You’ll have a seat at the table during a time of hypergrowth and transformation. You’re going to help pioneer and build on their foundation. Category Manager (retail category management exp. req.) Responsibilities

•    Own non-alcoholic beverage category performance 
•    Develop strong relationships with external partners 
•    Analyze category performance to develop plans based on opportunities
•    Leverage and apply category management principes 
•    Monitor supplier performance, negotiate agreements, and ensure accountability
•    Analyze large data sets in Excel using pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros 
•    Manage SKU rationalization, category assortment, and planogram strategy 
•    Create growth strategies, pricing recommendations, and merchandising plans 
•    Develop and present compelling and actionable insights-led category stories in PPT 
•    Work with internal teams to develop analysis and reporting

Category Manager (retail category management exp. req.) Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree required 
•    3+ years of a food or beverage category management experience required 
•    Experience creating brand programs within a retail environment required 
•    Expert Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, and VLOOKUPs required
