Outside Sales (Entry-Level Career Opportunity, Mechanical Aptitude a PLUS) Description

Our client in the industrial parts industry is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to join their team in Salem, OR. This is an entry-level sales opportunity for someone eager to learn, with prior customer-facing experience and a strong drive to build relationships. You’ll split your time between the Salem branch and visiting customers within your territory—primarily focusing on maintaining and growing long-term partnerships while identifying new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adaptable, and customer focused. You’ll receive training, support from leadership, and opportunities to grow within a company known for its great culture and long-tenured team members.

Outside Sales (Entry-Level Career Opportunity, Mechanical Aptitude a PLUS) Responsibilities

•    Grow sales and maintain relationships with existing accounts (80%)
•    Identify new business opportunities (20%) with support from the Branch Manager
•    Respond to customer inquiries about product support
•    Plan out daily visits to customers' sites within your sales territory
•    Assess customer needs and recommend product solutions
•    Follow up on leads provided by the Business Development team
•    Maintain accurate records of sales activities and expenses
•    Attend sales meetings and training sessions as needed
•    Provide backup support to Inside Sales when necessary

Outside Sales (Entry-Level Career Opportunity, Mechanical Aptitude a PLUS) Qualifications

•    1+ year of customer-facing experience is required (prior sales experience not required)
•    Comfortable learning new software is required
•    Valid driver's license & good driving record is required
•    Ability to work 70% on-site + 30% in the field visiting customers is required
•    Ability to travel 1X per year to the corporate office in Portland is required
