Buyer (International Supplier Exp. Pref.) Description

Our client, a leader in the wholesale foodservice products industry, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join their team near Paterson, NJ. In this position, you will determine the preferred replenishment timelines and order quantities for a range of SKUs shipping from factories across Asia to multiple distribution centers in the United States. The ideal candidate will have a background in supply chain planning, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position offers excellent growth potential within a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization.

Buyer (International Supplier Exp. Pref.) Responsibilities

•    Determine economic order quantities and replenishment timelines for assigned SKUs
•    Monitor demand changes and adjust purchasing plans accordingly
•    Investigate abnormal demand patterns and collaborate with the Demand Planning Team
•    Optimize inventory levels by maximizing turns and reducing overstock and stockouts
•    Issue and manage purchase orders with international factories through delivery
•    Review daily dashboards and address critical inventory issues promptly
•    Analyze and facilitate inventory transfers between distribution centers
•    Collaborate with Planners to consolidate shipments for cost efficiency
•    Maintain clear communication and accountability with the supply base
•    Proactively identify and escalate supply chain risks, proposing alternative solutions

Buyer (International Supplier Exp. Pref.) Qualifications

•    2+ years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or a planning-related role is required
•    High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas & pivot tables) is required 
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset are required
•    Tech savvy and comfortable learning new software (ex: ERP system) is required
•    Ability to work on-site is required
