Environmental Manager (EHS/environmental compliance exp. req.) Description

Our client is seeking an Environmental Manager to join their team in Huntington Beach, CA (45 company-wide, 2 direct reports). Whether you have leadership experience or you are looking for your first opportunity in a management role, this would be a great opportunity for someone who wants to have more impact and direction over a company’s environmental footprint. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing strategies to ensure their metal finishing processes follow environmental regulations, lessen waste, and encourage sustainable practices. You will play a critical role in overseeing and enhancing their waste treatment systems to decrease environmental impact. To be chosen for this role, you must have strong experience with regulatory reporting and in-depth knowledge of waste treatment technologies. Environmental Manager (EHS/environmental compliance exp. req.) Responsibilities

•    Lead environmental and waste treatment department including two direct reports 
•    Ensure compliance with environmental standards
•    Remain apprised of all regulations relevant to electroplating 
•    Manage the design and execution of waste treatment systems 
•    Evaluate processes to decrease waste generation and increase efficiency 
•    Develop and oversee pollution prevention strategies
•    Train staff on environmental policies and emergency responses
•    Manage and renew necessary permits and licenses
•    Prepare and submit regulatory reports timely
•    Conduct regular environmental audits to assess compliance
•    Nurture a culture of environmental responsibility and awareness 

Environmental Manager (EHS/environmental compliance exp. req.) Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or life sciences required 
•    5+ years of environmental compliance experience required 
•    2+ years of experience with waste treatment systems required
•    Able to work onsite daily required
