Engineering Supervisor – Substation Engineering (PE required) Description

Our client, a utilities company, is searching for a Substation Engineering Supervisor to join their team in Jackson County, MO. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in leading their Transmission Planning and Substation Engineering Team (4). You will serve as a project executive overseeing the design work, managing consultants, handling contracts, and directly supervising the construction of all the facilities. Aside from a strong substation and high voltage background, our client is looking for a communicative and collaborative tenured engineering professional who would enjoy mentoring the next generation of engineers. Engineering Supervisor – Substation Engineering (PE required) Responsibilities

•    Plan and oversee projects, including major construction and capital improvements
•    Supervise staff in engineering (4) to ensure efficient project execution
•    Provide mentorship to junior engineers to support their continued advancement 
•    Recommend the acquisition of advanced equipment, software, or specialized training
•    Review staff performance and offer solutions to mediate challenges 
•    Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure projects are on track 
•    Participate in NERC audits and prepare quarterly and annual document certifications
•    Oversee transmission system planning and its coordination across stakeholders 

Engineering Supervisor – Substation Engineering (PE required) Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering required 
•    Professional Engineer certification (within the US) is required 
•    Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience required 
•    Transmission systems engineering and planning experience required 
•    Substation engineering and design experience required
