Salary: $83,000-$118,000

Engineering Designer & Estimator – Electrical Distribution Description
Our client, a utilities company, is seeking a technical, detail-oriented Engineering Designer & Estimator to join their Team within the power and energy sector in Jackson County, MO. In this role, you will develop, plan, and oversee electric distribution projects. From material estimates to easement procurement and field staking to crew consultation, you will play an integral role in ensuring compliance with design standards and project deliverables. To be chosen for this role, you must have a strong AutoCAD background. This would be a great fit for someone looking to make a significant impact on their community. You’ll likely have a better work/life balance with very limited after-hours work needed and a smaller community to support.
Important note: There are no residency restrictions. Candidates may live in MO or KS.
Engineering Designer & Estimator – Electrical Distribution Responsibilities
• Design smaller scale electrical distribution projects
• Create work orders, material estimates, plan reviews, and easement acquisitions
• Maintain project files on planned, continuing, and finalized jobs
• Ensure easements are obtained and material estimates are accurate
• Confirm financial reimbursements are processed before project release
• Conduct field staking and inspections of construction projects
• Review as-built drawings to maintain Distribution Maps and Circuit One-Line Drawings
• Prepare detailed specifications for unique designs and initiate requisitions
• Develop information for stakeholders including public officials and contractors
• Respond to correspondence and prepare activity reports on project status
Engineering Designer & Estimator – Electrical Distribution Qualifications
• Technical degree or engineering certification required
• Experience in designing, coordinating, and estimating electrical distribution projects required
• Strong background using AutoCAD in the creation of new designs required
• Driver’s license required
