In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing patient medical records and accurately assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes while ensuring compliance with official coding guidelines. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, CCS certification, and proficiency with EHR platforms like Epic or Cerner. [REMOTE] Inpatient Coder – Acute Care (Current CCS req) Responsibilities
• Review patient medical records and assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Work within clients' EHR and encoder systems to ensure accurate coding
• Communicate with healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses and procedures
• Adhere to official coding guidelines and AHA Coding Clinic standards
• Provide coding support for multiple service lines as needed
• Collaborate with team members on service line operations and business objectives
• Complete compliance education and maintain professional credentials
[REMOTE] Inpatient Coder – Acute Care (Current CCS req) Qualifications
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Certification (CURRENT) required
• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience required
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS required
• Experience in Hospital/acute care settings required
• Proficiency with EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.) required
