Mechanical Systems Design Engineer Description
Our client, a leading OEM of data center cooling systems, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Dallas, TX (near Mesquite). In this role, you will design and enhance mechanical systems – including liquid- and air-cooled load banks, coolant distribution units, and thermal management solutions – from concept through production. You’ll work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver manufacturable, cost-effective designs that meet the demands of mission-critical environments. Mechanical Systems Design Engineer Responsibilities
• Create models and detailed drawings using CAD software
• Design thermal/fluid systems and conduct stress/tolerance analysis
• Support prototyping and validation testing during product development
• Select materials and components for performance and cost
• Collaborate with teams to ensure design meets all requirements
• Develop BOMs and documentation for fabrication and assembly
• Assist with vendor coordination and component sourcing
• Review and enhance existing product designs
• Provide support during manufacturing and installation
Mechanical Systems Design Engineer Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
• Mechanical equipment/system design experience required
• Experience with material selection, stress/tolerance analysis, and BOM creation required
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability and design for assembly required
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software required
