Automation Controls Engineer (PLC programming exp. req.) Description
Our client, a recognized leader in custom materials testing equipment, is seeking a talented Automation Controls Engineer to join their growing and innovative team. In this highly autonomous role, you’ll take the lead in developing sophisticated control systems for thermal, mechanical, and environmental test equipment, leveraging your expertise in PLC/HMI programming and automation hardware.

Automation Controls Engineer (PLC programming exp. req.) Responsibilities
• Design and program PLC, HMI, and LabVIEW software for machine control and data acquisition
• Specify and select components, including PLCs, drives, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial networking equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in production and customer startup environments
• Develop supporting documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and user manuals
• Provide technical support to field service teams
• Collaborate with production and engineering to resolve design and assembly issues
• Ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards (NEC, UL, etc.)
Automation Controls Engineer (PLC programming exp. req.) Qualifications
• 3+ years of industrial automation controls experience required
• PLC/HMI programming experience required
• Understanding of motion controllers required
• Working knowledge of electrical codes required
