Salary: $140,000 - $150,000 + Benefits + Bonus Opportunities

Senior Director of Programs (Indian Country exp req, Hybrid) Description

Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization, is seeking a mission-driven Senior Director of Programs to join their leadership team in either Phoenix, AZ or Rapid City, SD. This hybrid position requires two days per week onsite and offers the opportunity to lead and elevate program operations that provide both immediate aid and long-term solutions to underserved communities. In this role, you will oversee all programmatic functions, including strategy development, team management, warehouse and facility operations, and procurement of donated goods, especially gifts-in-kind (GIK). Managing teams across two locations, this leader will supervise four direct reports and ensure the successful execution of services across 30+ staff. A core part of the role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with our client’s partners, community leaders, and internal departments such as Development and Finance. The ideal candidate will bring at least 7 years of leadership experience, deep knowledge of Indian Country, and a proven track record of managing hybrid or remote teams. Prior experience with logistics, nonprofit programs, or social impact work is highly valued. Senior Director of Programs (Indian Country exp req, Hybrid) Responsibilities

•    Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of all programs
•    Ensure alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term goals
•    Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program and warehouse staff 
•    Ensure compliance with all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements 
•    Oversee program development and improvement to enhance effectiveness 
•    Collaborate with development, procurement, and donor teams to secure and manage goods-in-kind (GIK)
•    Monitor program and logistics budgets, control costs, and report on expenditures
•    Oversee warehouse and facility operations 
•    Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment for staff and volunteers
•    Support the recruitment and retention of strong program partners and volunteers
•    Work closely with leadership and development teams to support fundraising, grant writing, and organizational outreach initiatives
•    Provide regular updates to the President/CEO
•    Maintain visibility through site visits and partner engagement across service areas

Senior Director of Programs (Indian Country exp req, Hybrid) Qualifications

•    10+ years of experience in Indian Country required
•    2+ years of senior-level leadership experience required
•    Proven experience managing remote teams (outside of Covid) required
•    7+ years of experience working in the nonprofit sector required
•    Ability to travel 25-30% of the time locally and nationally required
•    Ability to work in-office 2 days a week required
