Controller (CPA & Mid-Market Company Exp. Req.) Description

Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Controller to join their team just southwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is a highly visible and hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the CFO. The Controller will oversee both strategic corporate finance functions and detailed day-to-day operations. The role includes managing a team of up to four direct reports (Accounting Manager and Staff Accountants) and four indirect clerical staff. The ideal candidate will bring extensive accounting & GAAP experience within a complex mid-market organization. Controller (CPA & Mid-Market Company Exp. Req.) Responsibilities

•    Support high-level complex corporate accounting/finance and day-to-day business
•    Oversee Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost & Inventory Accounting, & Revenue Recognition
•    Master the monthly and quarterly reporting process, and oversee the team’s future execution
•    Direct budget preparation and financial forecasts, report variances
•    Provide strategic financial insights for decision-making
•    Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
•    Coordinate regulatory reporting and ensure compliance
•    Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures
•    Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting per GAAP
•    Analyze financial data and present accurate financial reports
•    Manage tax reporting and compliance within applicable tax laws
•    Evaluate the performance of accounting and financial staff

Controller (CPA & Mid-Market Company Exp. Req.) Qualifications

•    CPA is required
•    7+ years of progressive accounting experience within a mid-market company is required
•    Prior team management experience is required
•    Advanced proficiency in Excel, particularly with large datasets and financial reporting, is required
•    Ability to work 100% on-site is required
