Accounting Manager Description

Our client in the home goods industry is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to add to their team outside of Tacoma, Washington. In this role, you’ll oversee a team of six and manage the day-to-day accounting operations while contributing to strategic planning, budgeting, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills and a talent for transforming complex financial data into actionable insights that inform key business decisions. Accounting Manager Responsibilities

•    Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
•    Manage a team of six Accountants and AP/ AR Specialists
•    Monitor cash flow and develop financial forecasts
•    Maintain and reconcile inventory records and support proper inventory valuation
•    Manage banking relationships and ensure adequate insurance coverage
•    Review and approve customer pricing and margin proposals
•    Lead the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis
•    Analyze financial data to identify areas for savings, growth, and stability
•    Present recommendations to leadership
•    Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
•    Coordinate tax filings and annual audits with external accountants
•    Provide financial training and support to other department leaders as needed

Accounting Manager Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of progressive accounting experience required
•    5+ years of accounting experience within the manufacturing industry required 
•    Standard costing, inventory control, and variance analysis experience required
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, MACROS, etc.) proficiency required 
•    Must be willing to work onsite
