Quality Engineer Description
Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to join their team in Cleveland, OH. This role is highly active and visible on the shop floor—expect to spend at least 50% of your time working directly with production teams, monitoring processes, performing root cause analysis, and driving quality improvements in real time. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team of three quality professionals, where your input and initiative will make a direct impact. This position supports the full scope of the Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO 9001:2015 compliance, supplier quality, product testing, audits, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience with lean/quality tools, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about operational quality and eager to contribute in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment with strong potential for growth.
Quality Engineer Responsibilities
• Ensure product and process quality through inspection, testing, and process monitoring
• Support compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and internal quality management systems
• Lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement projects
• Develop, implement, and audit control plans, SOPs, and standard work practices
• Perform material and product testing against established specifications
• Analyze quality data to identify trends and recommend process improvements
• Conduct Gage R&R studies and improve measurement systems
• Assist with supplier audits, qualifications, and quality improvement initiatives
• Support new product development with quality testing and process validation
• Create visual tools and dashboards to promote quality awareness and accountability
• Train manufacturing employees in quality standards and procedures
• Lead internal quality audits and participate in external audit preparation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, & Customer Service
Quality Engineer Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Working knowledge of SPC, root cause analysis, and quality auditing required
• Hands-on experience with lab/testing equipment and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel) required
• Must be able to work 100% on-site in Cleveland, OH
