Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 + Discretionary Performance Bonus + Benefits

Assistant Controller (Manufacturing exp req) Description

Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their team in Minneapolis, MN. You will work closely with the Controller and engage deeply with both the corporate office and the plant in Mora, MN. You will be responsible for managing the general ledger, performing month-end close, and analyzing cost and inventory data to support strategic business decisions. Ideal candidates will be comfortable wearing multiple hats, enjoy problem-solving, and thrive in smaller, entrepreneurial environments. To be successful in this role, you must have strong transactional accounting experience, be highly analytical, and demonstrate an ability to understand manufacturing cost flows and data. Assistant Controller (Manufacturing exp req) Responsibilities

•    Handle month-end close processes including reconciliations financial reporting
•    Analyze inventory and cost-related data for accuracy
•    Monitor and report on inventory valuation, physical counts, and reconciliation
•    Support cash flow analysis and assist with banking and treasury functions
•    Assist with sales tax filings and other compliance-related documentation
•    Identify process improvements across accounting functions
•    Review plant-level reports and identify errors or cost saving opportunities 
•    Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities
•    Support compliance reviews and internal controls

Assistant Controller (Manufacturing exp req) Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree required
•    5+ years of general ledger & inventory accounting experience required
•    3+ years of Manufacturing experience required
•    Transactional accounting experience required
•    Month-end close and budgeting process experience required
•    Strong ERP systems & Excel experience required
