Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 (negotiable) + Annual Bonus + 1X 10% Project Completion Bonus

PROJECT INCENTIVES (negotiable): This is a long-term career opportunity in Stamford, CT, starting with a 6–12-month costing project in Pittsburgh. While in PA, you’ll receive paid housing, transportation, per diem for meals, and flights back to CT every other weekend. Plus, a ~10% bonus upon project completion.

Our client, a global industrial manufacturer, is seeking a cost accounting professional in CT to join their finance team. This role begins with a high-impact costing project just north of Pittsburgh, PA—focused on evaluating costing processes, improving data accuracy, and providing actionable insights to strengthen decision-making. Once the project is complete, you will have the opportunity to transition into strategic financial planning and analysis, supporting corporate initiatives from the Stamford, CT, office. While prior manufacturing experience is not required, a strong foundation in cost accounting, advanced analytical skills, and a curiosity to understand operations are essential to driving both short-term efficiencies and long-term financial strategy.

Cost Accountant (Long-term job in CT w/ initial 6-12 month project in PA) Responsibilities

•    Analyze part-level costing and set standards in a manufacturing setting
•    Assess and improve the current costing structure and processes
•    Perform time and process analysis to ensure accurate cost standards
•    Analyze material, labor, and overhead rates; update as needed
•    Partner with engineering and operations to maintain accurate BOMs and routings
•    Monitor and report on manufacturing variances and provide recommendations
•    Prepare cost analysis reports for management and strategic planning
•    Identify and recommend cost-saving initiatives to improve margins and efficiency
•    Collaborate with finance leadership on budgeting and margin analysis

Cost Accountant (Long-term job in CT w/ initial 6-12 month project in PA) Qualifications

•    2+ years of cost accounting experience is required
•    Knowledge of inventory or costing systems is required
•    Advanced Excel skills, including formatting, formulas (ex: VLOOKUP) & pivot tables, are required
•    Ability to spend 6-12 months in Pittsburgh, PA, for a costing project is required
