Cost Accountant Description

Our client, a global manufacturer, is seeking a Cost Accountant to evaluate and optimize costing processes for their Pennsylvania facility. You will assess the existing cost system, analyze part-level costs, and implement process improvements to ensure accuracy and profitability. This role involves cost variance reporting, evaluating time studies, and BOM validation, along with collaboration across engineering and operations. Cost Accountant Responsibilities

•    Analyze manufacturing part-level costing and set standards 
•    Assess and improve the current costing structure and processes
•    Develop standardized procedures for capturing time study data
•    Analyze material, labor, and overhead rates; update as needed
•    Partner with engineering and operations to maintain accurate BOMs and routings
•    Monitor and report on manufacturing variances and provide recommendations
•    Prepare cost analysis reports for management and strategic planning
•    Identify and recommend cost-saving initiatives to improve margins and efficiency

Cost Accountant Qualifications

•    2 years of cost accounting experience is required
•    Knowledge of inventory or costing systems is required
•    Advanced Excel skills, including formatting, formulas (ex: VLOOKUP) & pivot tables, are required
•    Ability to work 100% on-site is required
