Engineering Lead – Power Distribution (utilities/power distribution exp. req.) Description

Our client, a public utilities company, is searching for an Engineering Lead to join their team in the Greater Kansas City, MO Area. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in leading their Power Distribution Team (6) and ensuring the successful completion of projects. From reviewing designs and estimations to preparing expansion plans, your supervision will be critical in the seamless coordination of distribution activities across municipal services and community development. This role requires a strong background within utilities specifically with distribution design projects. Engineering Lead – Power Distribution (utilities/power distribution exp. req.) Responsibilities

•    Oversee 6 engineering team members (Estimators, Sr. Engineer, and Engineering Tech) 
•    Supervise the design and job order development for electrical distribution systems
•    Oversee the development and maintenance of distribution practices 
•    Prepare plans for new electrical connections for residential and commercial properties
•    Support the coordination and planning across city departments and municipal services 
•    Establish goals and strategies for system expansion and improvements 
•    Prepare annual operation and capital project budgets for the area of responsibility
•    Review and approve all engineering plans for utility distribution systems
•    Conduct design work on special projects as need 
•    Partner with internal and external stakeholders to effectively drive project completion 

Engineering Lead – Power Distribution (utilities/power distribution exp. req.) Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering required 
•    Strong electrical engineering experience within utilities required 
•    Power distribution design experience required 
•    Leadership experience or desire to transition into a leadership role required
