Designer – Commercial Interiors, Furniture & Space Planning Description
Our client is looking for an experienced Commercial Interior Designer to add to their team near Centreville, VA. You will be responsible for generating design drawings and product specifications for current and potential corporate, education and commercial clients in addition to providing consultative services in support of the Sales team. Qualified candidates will have interior design experience with furniture and space planning for commercial offices/buildings/environments and enjoy working directly with clients to make their visions come to life. Candidates will understand furniture concepts, space and layout, concept of flows and be able to translate that into a scale drawing for implementation in the space. To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to effectively plan and set priorities to reach goals in addition to strong communication and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Designer – Commercial Interiors, Furniture & Space Planning Responsibilities
• Create digital space plans for furniture and related products in 2D and 3D
• Revise drawings, floorplans, and elevations and create final drawings for installation purposes
• Formulate, update and revise product lists based on drawings and images using catalog software
• Assist Sales in selecting products, fabrics and finishes
• Collaborate with Sales to prepare design boards; attend client meetings to support presentation
• Interact with clients and their affiliates prior to and during installation of projects
• Assist with ordering of design samples, product literature, and other collateral material needs
• Maintain organization of design samples
• Support monthly catalog software updates
• Contribute to showroom design, specifications, product ordering, and sample tracking
Designer – Commercial Interiors, Furniture & Space Planning Qualifications
• 3+ years of commercial interior design experience required
• Experience with a variety of furniture products, flow, planning/designing of space and layout required
• Experience creating 2D drawings and 3D renderings for design implementation required
• AutoCAD or similar modeling software experience required
