Our client in the industrial machinery industry is looking for a Pre-Sales Application Engineer to join their team in Baltimore, MD. In this high-impact, customer-facing role, you’ll blend technical expertise with creativity to develop machine concepts that directly shape what gets built for our clients. Acting as a key technical liaison in the pre-sales process, you’ll translate customer needs into practical, innovative machinery solutions—many of which become custom-built systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll lead pre-sales technical efforts, propose tailored solutions balancing feasibility and performance, and ultimately help shape what gets delivered to customers. Solutions Engineer, Pre-Sales/Application (mechanical systems exp. req.) Responsibilities

•    Work with customers to understand technical requirements and translate into machine designs 
•    Prepare cost-based technical proposals aligned with project goals
•    Serve as a subject matter expert on machinery and application solutions
•    Facilitate technical planning sessions with engineering, sales, and product stakeholders
•    Deliver product demonstrations and technical briefings to internal and external audiences
•    Oversee system evaluations and trials to validate proposed solutions
•    Support early-stage project scoping to ensure alignment with customer objectives
•    Maintain up-to-date activity logs and customer data within internal platforms
•    Lead training sessions for clients and internal teams on product use and best practices
•    Contribute to product enhancements by relaying field insights and client feedback to R&D

Solutions Engineer, Pre-Sales/Application (mechanical systems exp. req.) Qualifications

•    Technical degree/certification required 
•    3+ years’ pre-sales engineering/concept design, or customer-facing technical experience required
•    Mechanical aptitude and the ability to translate needs into practical design solutions required 
•    Ability to read, understand and translate mechanical drawings required
•    Proficiency with AutoCAD or Solidworks, and MS Office, particularly Excel, required
•    Willingness to travel up to 25% within the US required
