Senior Automotive Mechanic Description
Our client, operating a large fleet of vehicles to support their mechanical services business, is seeking a Senior Automotive Mechanic to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide range of vehicles in a fleet of over 300 units, including vans, trucks, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. You will manage multiple mechanical issues daily and utilize advanced diagnostic tools to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a stable and well-respected organization, with a clear path for advancement to Service Manager.
Senior Automotive Mechanic Responsibilities
• Support the maintenance and repair of a diverse commercial fleet
• Diagnose and repair 4 to 6 vehicle issues daily
• Perform advanced repairs on engines, transmissions, and electrical systems
• Conduct safety inspections and routine maintenance services
• Use diagnostic software to identify and troubleshoot issues
• Maintain accurate service records through the company’s software
• Train and guide junior technicians in best practices
• Collaborate with fleet and safety teams on tech upgrades and vehicle systems
• Lead continuous improvement efforts within the shop
• Ensure compliance with company and safety standards
Senior Automotive Mechanic Qualifications
• ASE certification or equivalent industry certification/experience is required
• 5+ years of automotive mechanic experience across multiple vehicle types is required
• Full-spectrum repair experience with engines, transmissions, and diagnostics is required
• Own set of professional mechanic tools required
• A valid driver’s license is required
• Ability to work 100% on-site is required
