VP of Finance & HR (High-Growth, Service-Based Company Exp. Req.) – REMOTE Description
Our client, a growth-oriented service-based company, is seeking a VP of Finance & HR to remotely lead an international team of Accounting & HR professionals (~16 people: mix of direct & indirect reports). Reporting to the COO, you will oversee financial operations (80%) and manage HR programs (20%) across payroll, benefits, compliance, and team development. The role begins with a strong operational focus and will evolve to a more strategic scope over time, driving growth through financial insights and organizational development. You will ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and analyze new revenue opportunities while also overseeing HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who excels in a high-growth environment, requiring significant cross-functional collaboration and teamwork.
VP of Finance & HR (High-Growth, Service-Based Company Exp. Req.) - REMOTE Responsibilities
• Lead Finance & HR team operations and development
• Review and analyze financial statements for accuracy and insights
• Oversee timely month-end close and Executive Summary reporting
• Direct external partners handling payroll and tax filings
• Manage financial planning, forecasting, and budget development
• Monitor and report monthly on financial KPIs and company performance
• Evaluate new revenue streams for profitability and strategic fit
• Oversee treasury and cash management functions
• Ensure GAAP compliance and strong financial controls
• Manage lender relationships, banking activities, and debt
• Oversee payroll, benefits, policies, and the quarterly review process
• Lead corporate insurance renewals, ensuring coverage and risk mitigation
• Develop and implement employee training and HR programs
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align Finance & HR with business goals
• Promote company values and strengthen organizational culture
VP of Finance & HR (High-Growth, Service-Based Company Exp. Req.) – REMOTE Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required
• 10+ years of Finance/Accounting experience in a high-growth environment is required
• Significant finance/accounting experience in service-based companies is required
• 5+ years of management experience, including leading remote teams, is required
• Experience overseeing payroll, benefits, employee training, and/or HR policies is required
• Proven ability to review contracts and identify business risks is required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting is required
