REMOTE – Account Manager (Entry Level Outside Sales) Description
Our client, a leading manufacturing solutions provider, is seeking an Account Manager to support a well-established and high-performing territory (current rep is retiring). This is a remote role based in Eastern Tennessee, with four days per week dedicated to in-person customer visits and one day reserved for administrative work from your home office. You will be responsible for developing and nurturing long-term relationships with manufacturing clients by offering tailored process solutions and equipment to improve their operations. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organized, and relationship-driven individual who thrives in an autonomous environment. Mechanical aptitude is helpful but not required—your curiosity, drive, and ability to learn quickly are most critical. This position is ideal for someone looking to launch or grow a long-term career in outside sales with a company that provides strong support and continuous development opportunities.
REMOTE – Account Manager (Entry Level Outside Sales) Responsibilities
• Manage, maintain, and grow the Eastern TN and Eastern KY territory
• Schedule & plan weekly customer meetings
• Visit manufacturing facilities to build relationships & uncover customer needs
• Maintain and grow existing accounts (80%)
• Identify new business opportunities (20%) – Mix of sales prospecting/research + warm leads
• Continuously assess product and service offerings, recommending improvements
• Lead sales demonstrations during customer meetings
• Build positive relationships with suppliers to ensure mutual growth
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Participate in training & development opportunities
REMOTE – Account Manager (Entry Level Outside Sales) Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree OR 1+ years of sales experience is required
• Strong ability to learn manufacturing processes & leverage vast resources is required
• Tech-savvy with solid computer skills is required (comfortable learning new software)
• Ability to spend 4 days per week in the field for customer visits is required (home every night)
• Ability to spend week 1 at the corporate office for training + ride-a-longs weeks 2-4 is required
